Spring 2016 Master Composter/ Recycler Program
The 2016 Master Composter/Recycler program begins March 28th. Classes are Monday nights and will be held at the WSU Extension Building at 222 N. Havana unless otherwise noted. Training consists of six lecture/discussion/hands-on sessions plus the Spring Compost Fair at Finch Arboretum’s Arbor Day Celebration. The classes are taught by a combination of staff, veteran MC/Rs and guest presenters. Evening classes begin around 5:30 and go to 8 p.m. The April 2nd class begins at 8:30 am and will start in the Soil Conservation building.
An important part of the MC/R program is volunteering at least 40 hours to teach others about waste reduction through composting and recycling. This can be done by working in outreach booths, at clean-up events, or in other ways approved by class leaders. Class application deadline is March 11th and registration forms can be obtained by contacting Kris Major at (509) 625-6521.For more information, check out the Leaf Letter.
