Airway Heights 50th Anniversary
A steering committee was formed and had meetings at the Community Center to discuss plans for the 50th Anniversary of the City of Airway Heights. The main celebration included the dedication in Sunset Park of a Flagpole Monument with emplacement of a time capsule, to be opened in 50 years. For a history of Airway Heights, click here. - The Spokane County Board of County Commissioners declared the town duly incorporated on April 19, 1955.
- That action was then certified by the Secretary of State on June 28, 1955.
- The newly elected officers at the time were Carl M. Lundstrom, Mayor, Leah B. Frank, Treasurer, and Council Members S.M. Mullen, Alvin M. Horner, Melvin E. Mintle, John Sheffer and J. (Andy) Anderson.
