New Public/City Development Projects
US Hwy 2 Beautification Project -- In cooperation with the WSDOT, the City of Airway Heights has embarked upon an ambitious beautification project to improve the visual appearance and safety of Highway 2. Some of the improvements already in place are bus shelters, landscaping, and improved pedestrian crossings. This is an ongoing project, so check here for updates on its progress.

Airway Heights Advanced Wastewater Reclamation Facility (AWRF) is under construction! This $42 million project will have up to a 1.5 million gallon treatment capability. Funded through the use of federal, state, and local dollars, it is to go on line in early 2011.

New Private Development Projects
ABC Mini-Storage -- Phase 1 of this high-end storage facility to be completed Fall 2009! Located on Lyons Street, south of US Hwy 2, this fortress style storage facility's first phase will consist of an office space and personal storage spaces.
Kalispel Hotel Casino Resort -- construction to be completed in Fall 2009. The Kalispel Tribe of Indians is in construction of an ambitious expansion of their current Northern Quest Casino in Airway Heights. Their plans include adding a seven-story atrium, 250 room hotel, and parking garage, in addition to expanding their casino and events center floor space.\
Expeditors International -- Fortune 500 Logistics Company expanding to Airway Heights! This Seattle based Fortune 500 company is building a full back-up server facility in Airway Heights.
Spokane County Raceway Park -- Racing's back in Airway Heights, and under new ownership! The Spokane County Raceway Park is now holding races. The largest motor racing facility in the Northwest, it was purchased by Spokane County in 2008. Managed by Austin Motorsports, the tracks and facilities are being upgraded to meet NHRA, NASCAR, and other international racing standards.
Residential Subdivisions
The City of Airway Heights has seen a definate increase in single-family developments. Having some of the best land values in the region, homebuyers can get more bang for their buck when purchasing a residence in Airway Heights. The City's investments in parks, alternative transportation systems (developing pedestrian and bike lanes), and other recreational opportunities for its residents, is evidence of Airway Heights' commitment to builiding a community, not just houses.
Hayden Homes has been in construction of the Sunset Crossing subdivision, a residential development that will eventually total over 300 single-family homes when complete. The first two phases are complete north of 6th Ave. and west of Russell St. The subdivision also has an easily accessible 2 acre park off Meadow Ct. They have begun building in Sunset Crossing North, which will eventually total over 100 additional single-family homes.
Traditions Subdivision -- Viking Homes has begun construction of the first phase of a 199 lot subdivision north of 6th Avenue and west of the Sunset Crossing development. Single-family homes are planned to be marketed in the $200,000 range. This development has an approximately 1 acre community park.
Hunters Crossing Subdivision -- AHO construction has started building the Hunter's Crossing subdivision north of the City. The first phase is complete and they are finishing up the next phase. These homes will start at $146,000, making them some the most affordable housing developments in the Spokane area.
Russell Heights Subdivision, Phase 1, located between Russell St. and Garfield Rd. in the northern part of the city has completed. When completed this duplex development will add a total of 130 living units to the city.
Aspen Grove Subdivision, buit by Korsumo, Inc., is located north from 12th Ave. to 6th Ave., and east of Craig Rd. The development is comprised of 3 and 4 bedroom single-family homes ranging in price from $130,000 to $230,000.
