Applying for a Job with the City of Airway Heights  Applications are accepted for advertised openings only.  Jobs are normally advertised in one or more of the following manners: the Cheney Free Press, The Spokesman Review, or the City of Airway Heights Cable Channel 5.

Application Process  Applications may be picked up at and returned to the
Airway   Heights City Hall , 1208 S. Lundstrom Street, Airway Heights, WA  99001.  Applicants who submit resumes also must submit the applicable City of Airway Heights employment application form and any additional materials as stated on the specific job announcement. Please check to make sure that the position has not closed and identify the title of the position for which you wish to apply.  Allow sufficient time for mailing as applications must be postmarked as received by 5:00 p.m.
on the closing date.

Qualifications  Before you submit your application, be sure that you meet the minimum qualifications and any specific position requirements stated in the job announcement, and that you list all experience that shows you to be qualified.  Stated minimums refer to full-time work; part-time work will be converted to full-time equivalents. Current Job Openings:


The City of Airway Heights is recruiting for Assistant Clerk-Treasurer. Specific areas this position oversees are Payroll and Benefit processing and related reporting, accounts Payable processing and other duties in the City Finance department. Requires two years office experience, experience in accounting and bookkeeping, and an Associates degree in accounting, business administration, or related field preferred. Salary range is $4,067-4,856. Position is opened until filled.

This position has responsibility for mowing, cleaning parks, maintaining ball fields, fertilizing and using chemicals to control pests and weeds, maintaining sprinkler systems, cleaning and stocking rest rooms, installing landscaping and maintaining park related equipment. This position interacts with citizens, community organizations, and other city staff. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to provide and maintain a safe work environment, and the ability to maintain records.

Please read Minimum Qualification Requirements below:

Duties: Under the supervision of a commanding officer, a police office is responsible for the protection of life and property, suppression of crime, enforcement of laws and ordinances, preservation of peace and traffic conditions, which involve physical and mental stress. Police officers are required to work weekends and rotating shifts. 

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be able to be lawfully employed in the United States, have a good of command of reading and writing the English Language and be a high school graduate or equivalent. Must be in excellent physical condition and be able to perform the full range of required duties including making a physical arrest. Must pass comprehensive pre-employment physical examination, background investigation and psychological testing. Must possess a valid driverís license. 

Visual Acuity: The applicant must possess visual acuity of not less than 20/100 in each eye without correction and corrected to 20/20 vision in the better eye and 20/30 in the lesser eye. 

Age: Applicants must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older at the time of the written exam.
