Civil Service Commission

The Civil Service Commission office for the City of Airway Heights is located in the Police Department Building at 13414 W. Sunset Hwy.  The Chief Examiner is Shea'lyn Swan.  She can be reached by leaving a message at the Police Dept at 509-244-3707. 

The office hours are on Fridays by appointment only.


Police Officer Lateral Applications

Applications are being accepted to establish a police officer hiring list for the City of Airway Heights. This is for lateral applicants only at this time.  Application is below or call: 509-462-0575, (message phone, please leave contact information for return phone call) or stop by the Airway Heights Police Department. Current range of consideration: $4107-$4906, DOQ. Applications accepted through: January 21, 2014 at 5:00pm at the Airway Heights Police Department, postmarks accepted. 

Lateral applicants must have successfully completed the Washington State Criminal Justice Basic Law Enforcement Academy or the Basic Equivalency Academy or have the ability to obtain an equivalency certificate prior to completion of one year’s probation with the Airway Heights Police Department; must have successfully completed probation and have a minimum of two years sworn, non-military patrol officer experience with a single agency; If not currently working in law enforcement, applicant must have been separated from previous agency for less than five years.



Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of application. Mail or drop off completed applications to the City of Airway Heights, 1208 S. Lundstrom St. 99001.

National Citizen Survey Results
During the summer of 2014 the city engaged in a survey of the residents of Airway Heights. Attached is a summary of the survey results.

LTAC is seeking proposals from qualified entities engaged in promoting tourism in the City. More information about the grant program available here.

Apply for Youth & Senior Advisory Commission
The City Council forming new Advisory Commissions to gain input from citizens regarding programming for youth and senior populations.
