The Community Development Director position is responsible for all activities including administration and interpretation of the Airway Heights Administrative Code governing land use, subdivisions, and community services. The division works on developing a long range strategy to ensure economic health of the city, including commercial and industrial development opportunities, and working with various agencies, developers, builders, investors and Fairchild AFB personnel.

Highway SR 2 Revitalization Program
The City of Airway Heights, in cooperation with city businesses and residents, has established a committee to address the issues surrounding our main thoroughfare through the city. For more information on what the committee has been up to, click here.
Some of the community / economic development activities include the following:
- Work with builders / developers on site selection opportunities
- Work with potential business investors on site availability and demographics
- Provide business development information to existing businesses
- Arrange informational meetings for existing and potential businesses and/or investors
- Work on components of Comprehensive Plan and the principal update of that Plan
- Act as liaison between regional business development groups and the City of Airway Heights
- Work to initiate, coordinate and continue downtown corridor revitalization activities
