Come join us throughout the month of July in Celebrating Parks and Recreation Month! During July show why you love your Parks & Recreation by taking photos and/or video of you, your friends and family holding an official I<3MY PARKS & REC Poster while enjoying all the programs and activities in our local parks. Send us your photos and videos and we’ll post them to the Parks & Rec Facebook page. The post with the most likes by Friday July 26th will win at Village Centre Cinemas Family Pack. Swing by the Community Center to get your I<3MY PARKS & REC Poster.
We have also got each weekend of July planned we will be having events held at Sunset Park and most are FREE. Here’s what we have planned:
Saturday July 6th– CAPTURE THE FLAG at Sunset Park
Sunset Park will transform into a two territories that teams will try to defend and save their flag. Capture the other teams flag and hoist it to claim the victory!
Game will begin at 10:00am at the Flag Pole in Sunset Park.
Friday July 12th– Come early to the regularly scheduled Summer Moonlight Movie “the Little Rascals” and join in on a game of Kick Ball.
Saturday July 20th– The Heights Shootout Competition
Hit as many shots as you can in 60 seconds from marked spots on the court.
Divisions for all ages. Cost: $12/Player. Pre-register by Thursday July 11th and receive a Heights Shootout T-shirt. Registrations will be accepted the day of the competition without an event T-shirt. Prizes will be awarded to the winner of each age division.

Saturday July 27th- Parks & Recreation CelebrationCelebrate July as Parks & Rec Month with you local Parks & Recreation Department. Free games, food and fun at the park for everyone to come and enjoy. This all day event will include music, inflatable water toys, a dunk tank with a chance to dunk some very special guests in the community.
