 SENIOR LUNCH PROGRAM

For the Seniors in the community we offer a weekly senior lunch program that serves as an excellent opportunity to come in and enjoy a meal and interact with other people that have similar interests and hobbies.

Lunch is only $3.00. Served at 11:30pm every Tuesday at the Airway Heights Community Center (13120 W 13th Ave - Airway Heights, WA 99001)

ACTIVITIES

SAIL - Stay Active & Independent for Life – SAIL is a strength, balance, and physical fitness program for adults 65 and older. Performing exercises that improve and maintain strength, balance, and fitness are the single most important activities adults can do to stay active and reduce their risk of falling.

     Days: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays     Time: 9:00am to 10:00am

SENIOR MOVIE CLUB – Enjoy member picked new, popular, classic, and documentary movies every fourth Tuesday following  Senior Lunch.

     Dates: 9/26, 10/24, 11/21                                  Time: Approx. 12:30pm

 All trips depart from the Airway Heights Community Center and require Pre-Registration

WIN-TUR BISON FARM

Have you ever wanted to feed some Buffalo? Visit the Win-Tur Bison Farm and enjoy a 90 minute tour that includes a presentation of the farms history, bison facts, and an opportunity to meet and feed these amazing creatures. Stop by the gift shop for a Win-Tur Bison Farm souvenir.

FALL COLORS TOUR

View all the vibrant fall colors of Spokane’s South Hill area. Enjoy a guided tour around the historic parks of the South Hill while taking in the beauty of the changing of the seasons.

 FOOD OUTINGS

    Join the Food Outings group and visit locally owned Spokane area restaurants and the amazing food each one has to offer. Van ride is free, must pay for own meal. Trips depart from the Community Center

 BRUNCHEONETTE – Built by the owners of the Spokane’s well known Couple of Chefs Catering Food Truck, this new restaurant features classic breakfast and lunch menu items but with a gourmet twist.

WISCONSINBURGER – A Wisconsin inspired mom-and-pop burger shop, serving up locally sourced beef and ground fresh every morning to give you the best possible burger experience!

Date: 10/12      Departure: 11:00am

 CHAPS – This fun, converted old farmhouse and now bakery/cafe nestled down the Latah Valley is decorated with vintage knickknacks and serving hefty plates of delicious American comfort food.

GEUST SPEAKERS & PRESENTATIONS
All presentations are held at the Airway Heights Community Center

FALLS PREVENTION AWARENESS DAY

Join the National Council of Aging (NCOA) and the Airway Heights Senior Commission to learn how to prevent fall-related injuries on the first day of the fall season. This event will offer opportunities to check your balance and leg strength, as well as consult multiple specialists about: prescription medications, at home strength and exercise routines, and answer a variety of medical questions.
