Applying for a Job with the City of Airway Heights  

Applications are accepted for advertised openings only.

Application Process  Applications may be picked up at and returned to the Airway Heights City Hall, 1208 S. Lundstrom Street, Airway Heights, WA  99001.  Applicants who submit resumes also must submit the applicable City of Airway Heights employment application form and any additional materials as stated on the specific job announcement. Please check to make sure that the position has not closed and identify the title of the position for which you wish to apply.  Allow sufficient time for mailing as applications must be postmarked as received by 5:00 p.m. on the closing date.

The Airway Heights Parks & Recreation Department is in the process of constructing phase one of the Airway Heights Recreation Complex.  The project is scheduled to be completed in March of 2019.  Phase one develops approximately 12 acres of the 70 acre site and includes the construction of an indoor Recreation Center.

Recreation Assistant

Airway Heights Parks & Recreation is looking for an energetic, motivated individual to fill an open Recreation Assistant position. This position will interact closely with children ages 8 to 13 after school as well officiate youth sports games (Soccer, flag football, and basketball), and assist in the organization and implementation of various other Parks & Recreation programs. This position requires strong communication skills with kids and adults, as well as the ability to provide and maintain a safe environment for all program participants.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have or be pursuing a degree in Recreation Management, Education or related field.

Successfully complete a criminal history check.

Valid Washington State drivers license.

Must be able to obtain within 30 days of hiring:

- Food Handlers card.
- CPR Card / First Aid Card (training available through the AH Fire Dept)

Wage & Hours:

$12.00-$15.00/hour DOE

10-15 hours/week. Typically Monday – Friday 3:00pm to 6:00pm and Saturdays 8:00am-12:00pm.

Must be available to work weekends and nights for various other programs.
