After holding two public hearings on the use of fireworks within the City limits of Airway Heights the first on June 6, 2011 followed by a second one on June 20, 2011 the City Council votes to restrict the use of fireworks within the City.

The City declares the public policy to secure and maintain such levels of fireworks regulations as to protect human health and safety and to the greatest degree practicable the City attempts to prevent injury to property and provide for the physical safety of individuals.  To this end it is the purpose of this Ordinance to provide a means of regulations to control a balance of tradition and public safety regarding the use of fireworks.
