Airway Heights Police
The Airway Heights Police Department is located at 1307 S. Ziegler Street.  We serve approximately 5000 citizens over about 5 square miles on the West Plains in Spokane County, Washington. AHPD provides 24 hour a day, 7 days a week patrol coverage. Our office is staffed Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

POLICE OFFICER ENTRY APPLICATIONS

Are being accepted to establish a police officer hiring list for the City of Airway HeightsThis is for entry applicants only at this time. Current range of consideration: $4107-4906, DOQ. Applications accepted through: April 17, 2015 at 5:00pm at the Airway Heights City Hall postmarks accepted. 

Please read Minimum Qualification Requirements below:

Duties: Under the supervision of a commanding officer, a police office is responsible for the protection of life and property, suppression of crime, enforcement of laws and ordinances, preservation of peace and traffic conditions, which involve physical and mental stress. Police officers are required to work weekends and rotating shifts. 

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be able to be lawfully employed in the United States, have a good of command of reading and writing the English Language and be a high school graduate or equivalent. Must be in excellent physical condition and be able to perform the full range of required duties including making a physical arrest. Must pass comprehensive pre-employment physical examination, background investigation and psychological testing. Must possess a valid driver’s license. 

Visual Acuity: The applicant must possess visual acuity of not less than 20/100 in each eye without correction and corrected to 20/20 vision in the better eye and 20/30 in the lesser eye. 

Age: Applicants must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older at the time of the written exam.
